I did not have a particular theme in mind when I started my cycle piece. From my hand dyes I chose a fabric that I thought had enough colour variation that everyone could work with.

One of my favourite marks is a circular motion, so I added a circular mark with acrylic paint. After that I added some stitching to give more depth and interest.

Working on the project gave me the opportunity to rediscover my hand dyes and develop my approaches to different design elements presented by the other participants.

Materials: cotton, Procion MX dyes, Golden acrylic paint, thickened dyes, cotton threads

Techniques: dye, paint, hand stitch
